Hello, I am Rosie McBurney, and I paint things.

Not on a computer, I actually paint things. With brushes, and paint, and a level of focus that makes the washing up feel very far away.

I studied fine art at Oxford and have spent years working as a professional chef. These two things have more in common than you would think: both involve a lot of time on your feet, a certain obsession with getting things exactly right, and the occasional kitchen disaster.

The McB's collection started because I needed an outlet for my creative side, outside of the kitchen. Here it is, for you to look at and maybe buy.

Every piece in the shop is based on my original hand-painted artwork. The Animal Alphabet took months to complete; 26 animals, each one painted individually, until the whole thing worked together as a poster. The personalised version, where I paint a portrait of your child, baby, pet or partner to replace one of the animals, is something I never get tired of making.
